Teaneck Water Intrusion Affects Flooring
Water flooded several rooms in this Teaneck home after a water line broke and dumped sufficient water to warp the hardwood flooring and also the lower level of the walls. Our SERVPRO crew first extracted the standing water using pumps and then heaters and dehumidifiers to remove the lingering moisture. The upper layer of pine planks was discarded as non-salvageable as were baseboards and portions of the drywall. The drying out was done quickly because of the cold weather and potential exposure for secondary water damage. The second photo shows the new insulation and vapor barrier that we installed in this frame house. After several days, a new floor installation would begin.
